The brief and what we did: Our client needed support for a transformational, €1 billion new mine, in an area with important and sensitive biodiversity and water resources, as well as a history of community relationship and regulatory challenges.
Working with our client we developed an environmental and social management and reporting system. A compliance tool was developed to consolidate a complex number of regulatory and lender requirements. New and revised governance documents were prepared, including policies and plans/procedures,performance reporting metric, as well as a work site and activity specific inspection programme.
The outcome: A new environmental and social management system was developed to integrate environmental and social risks, impacts and opportunities into the planning of construction work, contractor selection and onboarding, and project execution.
