Our client: Various, mining and energy corporations
The brief and what we did: We developed an offset programme to support a complex green field and existing mining development and 800+km trans-national gas pipeline in Europe and the Balkans. The programme was developed to comply with multilateral development bank requirements (including IFC, EBRD and EIB).
The offset programme needed to consider and integrate a complex and diverse landscape and seascape habitat types, regulatory requirements, stakeholders, ecosystem service users as well as climate change resilience.
The outcome: Mechanisms for assessing residual impacts were developed for various habitats, including both terrestrial and marine environments. Measurable conservation outcomes were also developed to achieve defined No Net Loss and Net Gain targets, with supporting implementation and monitoring plans.
