Rowan Secrett

Rowan brings 15+ years of experience in social development and sustainable finance to her role within Energies Group. Her specific areas of expertise include due diligence, supply chain management, ethical trade, E&S risk/impact assessment, human rights risk/impact assessment, standards and assurance, audit and capacity-building and stakeholder engagement.

Throughout her career, which has taken her across the globe, she has worked as both a technical specialist and Project Manager across different sector supply chains and operations, including mining, energy, agribusiness, infrastructure and manufacturing.

Rowan currently provides social and environmental specialist support to the World Bank International Finance Corporation (IFC) on broad and complex investment and advisory projects in Europe and Central Asia. Some notable highlights from her earlier career include heading up the standards and assurance programme at a global international sustainability standard-setting organisation and a role overseeing compliance and training programmes for 100+ clothing and shoe factories in Asia for a major e-commerce fashion label. As a consultant, she has led the social and stakeholder engagement ESIA component of large-scale mining, oil and gas and infrastructure projects.

In addition to holding a BA in Geography (1^st Class) and an MSc in Sustainable Development (Distinction), Rowan is an IRCA approved Provisional Lead SA8000 Social Systems Auditor, and a Provisional Lead ISO14001 Environmental Systems Auditor. She has also completed the Global Reporting Initiative G4 Certified Reporting Course and is an International SOS First Aider.
