Mathieu Neale

Environmental Engineering

Mathieu has over 20 years of experience supporting a wide range of complex energy projects serving in environmental engineering and environmental compliance management system development and implementation roles.

Mathieu has supported numerous engineering projects leading the development and implementation of engineering environmental design basis and philosophy documents, performing Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments, preparing waste, carbon/emissions and discharges inventories, and developing regulatory compliance frameworks. He also has extensive experience in managing 3rd Party ESIA’s, FEED evaluations, EPC tendering exercises as well as supplier audits and due diligence assessments.

He has supported new infrastructure planning and construction across Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey and lead the development and implementation of a sustainability management system for an international energy company in West Africa. Mathieu has worked on several international lender-financed projects with funding from the IFC, EBRD, Asian Development Bank, and European/American Export Credit Agencies. On these projects, he successfully led the integration of lender environmental and social policies and project-specific regulatory standards into the engineering, procurement and construction phases.

In addition to years of environmental engineering experience, Mathieu has a BSc in Environmental Geoscience and an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment and Auditing.
